Upcoming Programs:

  • New Trends in Environmental Gardening:

A series of free classes on environmental gardening presented by The Montgomery County Master Gardeners. Thursdays 7:30 - 8:30 PM starting April 17th and ending May 29th on alternate Thursdays.

  • Science in the Summer!

Hosted by GlaxoSmithKline and AAAS, classes are held at the Free Library of Springfield Township, from July 21 - 24. Level 1 is from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM for children who have just completed 1st & 2nd grade! Level 2 is from 11:15 AM - 12:00 PM for children who have just completed 3rd, 4th & 5th grade! Applications are available at the Library until the end of May. Parents must come to the Library to complete an application. Unfortunately, because of the popularity of Science in the Summer, children will be picked by lottery to participate. Regular Programs:

The Library is looking for a few good teens. Are you between the ages of 12 and 17? We're forming an Advisory Board to help plan program and event evenings! Got ideas? Got free time? Need a snack? We are OPEN! No plan, no agenda, no sign up. Just show up. Tuesdays 6:00 - 8:00PM.

Tuesday: Pre-School (3-6)10:30 AM & 1:00 PM
Thursday: Infants 10:30 AM

Drop in at 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Fridays for some neat arts and craft projects!

Socrates Café is a group of individuals who like to talk. They get together and discuss what is on their minds, from something on the news that day to the age old questions of “What is…? Socrates Café helps you learn how to think, not what to think. Does this sound interesting? Would you like to join a Socrates Café at the Library? The Free Library of Springfield hosts the Café regularly, and encourages you to join every Monday at 7:00 PM.
