FLS Home > About
The Free Library of Springfield Township was founded in 1966 and provides free access to over 60,000 educational and recreational materials to all Springfield Township and Montgomery County residents. Since we have opened, we have been dedicated to creating a community center for lifetime learning. We are a charter member of Access Pennsylvania, which allows patrons to use any participating Pennsylvania library. We are also a charter member of MCLINC, a consortium of libraries which provides online, public access to Montgomery County library collections and Online Databases via library, home and office computers.

Friends of FLS
This is a group of neighborhood volunteers who work to strengthen their local library by increasing awareness and promote ownership of this important educational and cultural asset to area residents.
What Friends Do:
- Advocacy: Increase the visibility of the library as a vital part of the community.
- Volunteer Opportunity: Assist the library staff with library programming.
- Increase Library Circulation: By educating neighbors about the importance of being a library card holder resulting in increased circulation.
If you'd like to join the Friends, stop in, or call us at 215-836-5300
